As a LORM (Local Operation Risk Manager) you are part of an international team and you report directly to the CEO of KBC AM Group. Together with your  colleagues you will play a key role in the management of operational risks within the first line of defence (1LOD).

You are the intermediary between the business and the management with regard to risk mitigation and validating the effectiveness of the local control environment. You will strive to actively enhance and contribute to the risk culture in KBC AM and strengthen the risk skills and knowledge of your colleagues in close and excellent co-operation with all your stakeholders.

Together with your LORM colleagues, you will be involved in various activities, amongst others:

  • Risk identification
  • Risk monitoring
  • Risk reporting
  • Business Continuity Management

 

The job offers a great variation in the challenging domain of operational risk management and allows you to develop as a risk professional.

Job Description

Concretely, as LORM , we expect you to take up the following roles:

  • you will challenge the quality of the first line risk management in the business line(s)/processes for which you take on the LORM role tasks
  • you will follow up on operational risks and report on (the status of implementation of) these risks to senior management and to the 2LoD
  • you will take ownership for the registration and the at all time quality of the risk data in the mandatory group wide risk tools
  • you will provide support and training to the business colleagues to build risk awareness within the involved business area
  • you will support business in and coordinate the implementation of Group wide risk projects, risk self-assessments, key controls, risk decisions, (acceptance, mitigation or transfer) , root cause analysis or any other group or local initiative to reduce first line risks
  • you will act as the interface between the business and the 2LoD risk management function

You will be supported in your role by means of general KBC Asset Management trainings, specialized classical trainings and on the job learning. Apart from content driven trainings, we invest in our team via team- and skill trainings. You will be supported and coached by your direct colleagues.

You will be part of an international, dynamic and heterogeneous team with various backgrounds. It is expected you communicate fluently in English.

Requirements

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated colleague with specialized knowledge in the field of operational risk management. An interest in the Asset Management business is a plus.
