KBC Focus Fund is the venture capital fund of KBC Securities, investing in innovative technology companies with strong growth ambitions. Through our €105 million fund, we support entrepreneurs not only with capital, but also with strategic guidance, access to an extensive network, and the expertise of the wider KBC Group.

To further expand our investment activities, we are looking for a driven Investment Manager who wants to play a key role in identifying, evaluating, and supporting high-potential companies across Belgium and neighboring countries. You will join a team of experts that combines deep technological knowledge, strong financial expertise, and an entrepreneurial mindset.

• You will be involved throughout the entire investment lifecycle, from the initial introduction to a company through to the ongoing management of portfolio investments.
• You have the ability to understand and critically evaluate complex technologies.
• You analyze investment opportunities by assessing business models, growth strategies, market potential, and deep-tech investment cases.
• You engage credibly with founders, engineers, researchers, and industry specialists, translating insights into clear and compelling investment recommendations.
• You lead or coordinate due diligence processes, contribute to negotiations on investment terms, and collaborate closely with legal, financial, and external advisors.
• Following an investment, you remain actively involved in the development of portfolio companies, including representing the fund on boards and governance bodies where appropriate.
• You actively build and maintain a strong network within the venture capital ecosystem, fostering relationships with entrepreneurs, co-investors, business angels, and other market participants.
• You identify new investment opportunities and develop a robust deal flow through an extensive network of entrepreneurs, incubators, universities, investors, and technology experts.

• You hold a Master's degree in Engineering, Business Engineering, Finance, Economics, or a related field. A PhD or MBA is considered a strong asset.
• You have at least five years of relevant professional experience in venture capital, private equity, investment banking, corporate finance, or M&A, preferably with a focus on technology-driven businesses.
• You combine strategic thinking with strong technical expertise and maintain a genuine curiosity for emerging markets, technologies, products, and business models.
• You are experienced in company analysis, valuation methodologies, financial modelling, and investment decision-making.
• You can structure and present complex investment cases clearly and effectively to investment committees and boards of directors.
• You possess excellent communication and negotiation skills. You easily establish trust with entrepreneurs, investors, and other stakeholders, and thrive in environments where influence, credibility, and diplomacy are essential.
• You are analytically strong, commercially minded, and proactive. You can manage complex situations while maintaining attention to detail.
• You are fluent in Dutch, French, and English. Knowledge of German is an advantage.
