As Product Owner Trading Risk, you will strengthen a multidisciplinary team of IT and business colleagues supporting the Group Risk division. The solutions we develop and manage are used for calculations and reporting on the risks of activities in the dealing room—for KBC and CBC as well as our Central European entities.
This environment is shaped by numerous legal and regulatory requirements. Together with a Scrum Master, you ensure that changes to our tools are implemented effectively. Your focus is not only on delivering business value but also on creating a stimulating work context for the team.
You will work in a hybrid setup with colleagues in Belgium (Brussels & Ghent), Bulgaria, and India—a team of trade risk developers, software engineers, analysts, risk managers… who support you with technical and content-related questions as well as priority setting.

- In discussions with internal stakeholders, you capture business and IT requirements related to Trading Risk and translate them into functionalities for our roadmap.
- You manage the backlog of ideas for new deliveries or adjustments, helping to set priorities. When making choices, you consider aspects such as cost, benefit, quality, and risk.
- Within your team and towards stakeholders, you are the content expert for implementations.
- You keep management informed about implementation progress and escalate issues when necessary.
- You communicate clearly with all stakeholders, gather input, and align expectations. You ensure their insights and interests are reflected in decisions and solutions.
- Together with the Scrum Master, you ensure high-quality deliveries, scheduled according to available business and IT capacity. You organize meetings, coordinate task execution, and guide the team toward achieving the intended goals.
- Continuous improvement is always on your mind. While you focus on content and priorities, the Scrum Master focuses on team needs and training. Together, you strike a balance between both perspectives.

- You hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree and have knowledge of financial markets and their risks. You’re interested in how trading floors operate and in financial products such as derivatives.
- Experience in these areas? Or have you worked as a Product Owner, Project Manager, Analyst, or Scrum Master? Even better!
- Bonus points if you believe in the value of SAFe/agile methodologies, have experience with them, and know your way around JIRA.
- You communicate fluently in Dutch and English. Convincing or challenging others with solid arguments? Aligning diverse stakeholders? You’ve got this.
- In conversations with internal and external clients, you listen actively and ask the right questions to capture real needs. Your analytical skills help you translate these into concrete actions and solutions, and bring structure to complex topics.
