As a Data Engineer / Software Developer you will be responsible for designing, building and maintaining robust data pipelines and software components that are part of the Ecosphere Orchestration Capabilities, you will be working on the Kate Intent Factory. You will work with modern technologies to achieve scalable and reusable solutions. Your work ensures that data flows cost-efficiently and securely through our systems, enabling us to generate insights and realise innovative applications. Besides the implementation within KBC Belgium, you will ensure that the Ecosphere Orchestration Capabilities are a true group solution and support the rollout to the different entities within KBC Group.

Your responsibilities:
- Design, develop and maintain data pipelines, ETL processes and reusable modules with Python, PySpark and Airflow.
- Collaborate with data scientists, architects and other engineers to build scalable and reusable group components on an AWS-based platform (Edison).
- Support other KBC entities in rolling out group components in their local context.
- Actively contribute to managing the backlog and refining new user stories.
- Thinking along on the roadmap, contributing to technology choices and translating functional requirements into technical designs.
Your strengths:
- At least 3 years experience as a Data Engineer and/or Software Developer in a complex IT environment, preferably building Python frameworks/modules for other users/teams.
- Strong knowledge of Python and experience with PySpark and Airflow.
- Experience working with data scientists in industrialising AI/ML models.
- Experience with CI/CD processes and associated technologies (Git, Jenkins, Concourse, etc.).
- Knowledge of AWS services within the data domain (S3, EKS, ECR, etc.).
- Understanding of data architecture, ETL processes and best practices for data engineering.
- You work in a structured way, have an eye for quality and are communicatively strong in English.
