As a Data Modeler, you will play a key role in designing and delivering data solutions, translating business requirements into structured data models, and contributing to the development of a modern platform. It is an opportunity to work on a large-scale international data platform (Rainbow).
You will collaborate with colleagues in the Data Integration team to design and implement scalable, high-quality data modeling solutions. You will work at the intersection of business and technology, ensuring that data structures support both operational and regulatory reporting needs.
To succeed in this role, you should have strong knowledge of data warehousing concepts and be a clear, effective communicator able to explain complex ideas to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and translate business requirements into long-term data models (primarily physical models)
- Design structured and performant data models aligned with business needs
- Apply best practices (e.g., star schema, facts & dimensions, normalization where appropriate)
- Follow and help refine Rainbow data modeling methodology to ensure consistency
- Challenge and clarify business requirements to ensure optimal data solutions
- Prepare and evaluate proposals for changes and improvements
- Ensure proper documentation and handover of delivered solutions
- Act as a bridge between business and technical teams
- Work closely with analysts, developers, and stakeholders
- Clearly communicate complex data concepts and solutions
Your Profile
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience with physical and relational data modeling
- Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts (star schema, normalization)
- Solid SQL skills and experience with large datasets
- Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
- General understanding of information systems and data processing
- At least intermediate level of English (written and spoken)
Nice to Have
- Experience in banking, finance, or controlling (2–3 years preferred)
- Knowledge of regulatory reporting (e.g., FINREP, COREP, GCRD)
- Familiarity with metadata management and data governance
- Experience working in cross-functional teams
