We’re looking for a Legal Advisor to join our Legal Hub team in Brno. 

You will be part of our international Contracting Competence Centre, working closely together with colleagues from Czech Republic, Belgium and Bulgaria. KBC group has numerous suppliers: from software and hardware, consulting services and marketing campaigns, to security and building maintenance, and much more. You will assist business and procurement departments with drafting and negotiations of agreements. You will also create contracting policies, templates, standard clauses and negotiation guidelines, advise on outsourcing and DORA files and third-party risk management related questions.

What will be your main responsibilities:

• Drafting contracts/clauses and supporting negotiations of all kinds of agreements, including general terms and conditions, purchase agreements, service agreements, license agreements, development agreements, consultancy agreements, etc.
• Working independently on agreements, helping the business translate its expectations onto paper and supporting negotiations
• Identifying legal and contractual risk and advising on mitigation actions to be taken by business
• Interpreting a contract and formulating an opinion when contractual agreements are not respected
• Triggering and supporting improvements of legal operations and automation of the processes
• Creating templates, policies and procedures related to contractual risk management

What we expect from our ideal candidate:

• You have a Master Degree in law 
• You have a good knowledge of contract law and related branches of law (IP, privacy, commercial, company law), and understanding of EU regulatory framework in banking and finance area 
• You have experience of 2-4 years (post-qualification); previous experience with procurement contracting and/or outsourcing and/or DORA regulation is an advantage
• Fluent English (oral and written), including legal English
• You are a good communicator and can actively listen in order to find workable solutions together
• You are able to understand and explain complex topics and you can deliver a well-balanced message with the right level of detail
• You see not only risks, but also opportunities; you have a pragmatic approach and strive for effective E2E solutions, you are able to collect many viewpoints and see the “big picture”
• Can-do approach and taking ownership is natural to you: you take on work spontaneously, have the confidence and dare to make choices and take positions even in ambiguous situations
• You are interested in innovation, contract automation and tooling, you have the will and courage to continue to grow and learn
• You are a bridge builder, without losing sight of your independent position
• You work independently while attaching great importance to teamwork and you have the reflex to share acquired knowledge spontaneously
