Data plays an increasingly important role in everything we do at KBC. As our data landscape grows and evolves, we are looking for a System Architect for the KBC Group data warehousing ecosystem who will help us shape and further develop the architecture behind our data platform (as part of the Rainbow program).

 

Within the Rainbow program, data processing and reporting flows are automated on a large scale, on-premise data warehousing platform to ensure regulatory requirements are met with straight-through processing and to realize the KBC Group commitments. The platform is used to support both business needs and regulatory requirements across our banking and insurance activities. You will therefore work on initiatives that have an impact across the entire KBC Group.

 

Together with architects, analysts, developers and business stakeholders, you will be involved to define the future direction of our Rainbow platform, contribute to architectural decisions, and enable the creation of scalable solutions in areas such as data integration, reporting, analytics, metadata management and governance. Your expertise will contribute to building reliable, sustainable and future-proof solutions that support both business needs and regulatory requirements across our banking and insurance activities You will be one of the key people helping us balance long-term architectural vision with practical delivery.

You will be part of a small, supporting team of Rainbow system architects and you will work on a variety of topics / technological areas within the Rainbow ecosystem within the 500+ FTE program (with coworkers working from Belgium, Czechia, Slovakia, Hungary, Bulgaria and India). In your day-to-day job, you will be in contact with a variety of international coworkers (system architect colleagues, technical implementation teams, business representatives, functional analists, database administrators, software vendor representatives, …) therefore communication, teamwork, technical experience and affinity with data warehousing are the keys to success.

We are looking for an experienced system architect or technical analyst who has broad experience, preferably in a data warehousing or data engineering environment. This assignment will offer you the opportunity to learn about the new tools and the new technologies in a broad environment.

  • You have experience in a data warehousing or data engineering environment.
  • You dare to challenge the stakeholders and the team being fully committed to strive to the best approach.
  • You are a self-starter, who can work independently with the necessary technical skills and broad experience in data warehousing or data engineering (specific trainings will be provided)
  • You are driven to look for continuous improvement of running IT systems & to keep learning
  • Fluent in English
  • Affinity with infrastructure (managed file transfers, sFTP, …), data engineering, python development, security assessments (threat modelling), cloud native architecture are good to haves
