Release Train Engineer/Agile Coach

As a Release Train Engineer you will be responsible for an efficient delivery in the Agile Release Train and take care of the continuous improvement of all the processes. Moto: I focus on building features on track. Improving the way of working through new practices and processes ignites my passion.
What we expect:
- Trusted "Servant leader" and coach for the Agile Release Train
- Responsible for an efficient delivery in the ART (= execution of clear objectives with operational excellence), in cooperation with the Scrum Masters (on team level)
- Facilitates and plans all ART events and processes (PI planning, system demo, ...)
- Coaches the Scrum Masters and the teams, and ensures that they work well together by coordinating their activities, mapping their interdependencies and making sure these are managed well
- Works continuously and relentlessly on improving the processes in order to make the ART drive more rapidly and more efficiently
- Creates an environment of mutual influence and supports the commitments made by the teams
- Informs him/herself on the progress of the activities and communicates with the stakeholders, escalates issues, helps to manage the risks
- Close cooperation with the Product Manager, located in Belgium
- Responsible for capacity planning and skill management on the ART, by encouraging personal development of the teams
- Important focus on performance of the ART, via reporting on het key execution metrics of the ART (= productivity KPI´s) to the Delivery Manager (known as Department Head)
- Participates in the Leadership and RTE Community of Practice.
- Is accountable for overall test approach, test plan inclusive the new way of working (such as shift left, test automation,..) to improve testing
- coordinates testing across teams (on feature-level), by all scrum masters and with interface teams
- Guarantees that improving testing is part of the inspect and adapt
- Plays a part in guarding the risk assurance strategy
Your skills & experience:
- Bachelor or Master Degree in Computer Science of Engineering
- Proven track record and career in software development
- Experience with co-operation across borders is a plus (ideally with India)
- Solid agile team facilitation experience (in Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, Lean at a minimum)
- Ideally the candidate has occupied functions like technical designer or functional analyst before moving towards project/program management roles
- SAFe certification is a great plus!
- Experience on multiple Scrum teams in a variety of different contexts (different team sizes, different fields of business, etc.)
- Experience mentoring leadership on agile practices
- Deep understanding of meaningful Agile metrics and how to interpret them
- Extensive experience in release development: activities, practices, deliverables and application of release techniques
- SAFe-agile mindset is a must
- System thinker and expert in program execution
- Influencer and persuader, guiding people in problem identification and decision-making
- Listen and support teams in problem identification and decision-making
- Create an environment of mutual influence
- Understand and empathize with others
- Encourage and support the personal development of each individual and the development of teams
- Coach people with powerful questions rather than use authority
