Acting at Theatre is Easy When Working from Home

Jitka is a Senior Learning Partner at KBC.

 

Her team takes care of the learning at KBC in Czechia and Bulgaria. She designs new trainings, develops new training programmes and empowers her colleagues through learning.

Acting at Theatre is Easy When Working from Home

Jitka is a Senior Learning Partner at KBC.

Her team takes care of the learning at KBC in Czechia and Bulgaria. She designs new trainings, develops new training programmes and empowers her colleagues through learning.

"People at KBC mostly enjoy courses on SQL, Excel, Communication and Presentation; these skills are crucial for their work. Many advance their careers by undertaking courses also on Python, Design Thinking and even time management makes a difference," she explains what courses are popular.

During her studies, Jitka joined a university theatre and fell in love with acting — this has become her passion ever since. Next to working at KBC, she still performs at a theatre in Brno run by a non-profit initiative called Napříč.cz. Jitka is even producing some of the plays. She explains that her job at KBC allows enough flexibility to focus on the learning of her colleagues during the day and act at night. “At the theatre, we have rehearsals in the evenings. It’s time-consuming but fulfilling. I have the opportunity to work from home 50% of the week, which helps me organise my schedule, and I also save a lot of time,” she explains how she manages to do it all.  

 

Her roles at KBC and the theatre are quite intertwined. “Just like our teams at KBC, everyone has their role at the theatre. Without a good production, actors and directors can’t do their job, and if the play doesn’t get marketed, the audience won’t come to see us play,” she explains the importance of teamwork. Jitka also highlights that working as an actress has strengthened her presentation skills and made stepping out of her comfort zone easy. 

 

Joining KBC six years ago, Jitka started off as an experienced recruiter and got into learning and people development later on. What she enjoys is putting her creativity into practice. Developing a new mentoring programme not so long ago is a good example. “We designed the whole process of the new mentoring programme within KBC. Then searched for mentors from the leadership and senior roles and for mentees, people who strive to grow,” she explains and hopes this project is going to support and empower her colleagues in their careers. Jitka concludes that developing people and helping them find their way is what she ultimately loves the most.
