Software Engineer (Trading and Counterparty Credit Risk)

Are you passionate about collaborating with our BiiO (Business & IT Integrated Organisation) team to play a central role in maintaining, optimizing and integrating systems that support counterparty credit and market risk functions?
Situated at the crossing between the Risk domain and the Financial Markets domain, our open-system solutions cover calculations and reporting on the risk of trades in the dealing room. Next to KBC bank and CBC, the central European entities are also part of our scope.

As our Software Engineer, you would have the following responsibilities:
- Participating in the entire software development lifecycle of system design, testing, integration and maintenance;
- Designing and problem solving; but also assisting in technical tasks such as maintaining existing code or adding new functionalities to our systems;
- Collaborating within the BiiO team but also cross-teams to define project requirements and specifications;
- Designing and developing open-system applications to meet these business objectives.
- Participating in code reviews and ensure best practices are followed;
- Troubleshooting, debugging and optimizing existing applications;
- Engaging in Agile development methodologies to continuously improve processes and deliverables;
- Automation of tasks, enhancing operational efficiency and reducing manual work to achieve fast, accurate results and reports;
- Effective data integration for seamless processing of information from different source systems;
- Tailoring purchased software solutions (IMCR – Integrated Market and Credit Risk) to align with the specific needs for credit and market risk management;
- Ensuring system reliability and stability is essential in our complex environment. We aim for structured release processes to support minimal disruption and maximal improvement;
- Working closely with involved teams to support shared learning and continuous improvement.
Key competencies that will help you succeed:
- SQL (Oracle SQL or Microsoft SQL);
- PowerCenter Knowledge;
- Scripting with any knowledge in Perl, Bash or Kotlin;
- Knowledge of Windows Server and Linux operating system;
- Experience with Automation and Packaging tools like Universal Automation Center (UAC) and BladeLogic;
- Experience with Version Control and Collaboration tools like Subversion (SVN) and Bitbucket;
- Experience with Continuous Integration and Delivery (CI/CD) using Jenkins.
