About the Role:
As a UI Technical Coordinator within the Digital Customer Experience (DCX) department, you will act as the bridge between UI designers and developers, ensuring smooth collaboration and alignment between design vision and technical implementation. You won’t be expected to code or design interfaces yourself, but you will need a solid technical understanding to:
• Translate design requirements into technical language,
• Facilitate discussions between design and development teams,
• Challenge estimations when needed and ensure feasibility,
• Ensure consistency with our design system and technical constraints.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys facilitating collaboration, has a good grasp of UI technologies, and can confidently navigate discussions with both designers and developers.
As our UI Technical Coordinator, you would have the following responsibilities:
• Collaborate with UI designers and developers to ensure design proposals are technically feasible and aligned with the KBC Design Language.
• Translate design requirements into clear specifications for development teams.
• Participate in discussions to understand effort estimations and challenge them when necessary.
• Maintain and evolve our digital style guide and design system documentation.
• Join regular syncs with tech leads to discuss component needs and improvements across platforms (native, web, etc.).
• Support the release process by reviewing implemented components and ensuring they meet design and technical expectations.
• Use Git to track and manage component documentation and updates.
• Contribute to improving design-development workflows and communication.
Key competences that will help you to succeed:
• You have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Digital Design, Multimedia, Product Design, Software/Web Development, or a related field.
• You understand how UI components work and can discuss them confidently with both designers and developers.
• You’re comfortable using Git and collaborating in version-controlled environments.
• You have a foundational understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to assess feasibility and participate in technical discussions.
• For maintaining and evolving our style guide (KDL assets and tokens), deeper knowledge of JavaScript and Node.js is highly valued.
• You’re familiar with Figma and can help manage design system documentation.
• You have strong communication skills and can translate between design and technical perspectives.
• You’re proactive, organized, and enjoy working in cross-functional teams.
A significant advantage would be to have :
• Familiarity with design guidelines for native and web platforms.
• Exposure to Agile methodologies and software delivery lifecycles.
• Understanding of accessibility standards and how they impact design and development.
