IT Auditor – Make an Impact Where Technology Meets Risk

Within Corporate Audit, insights make a difference. You will work close to the heart of the organization, supporting audit assignments that help KBC better understand and manage technology, information security and process-related risks.

Technology and innovation are key enablers of KBC’s strategy. As an IT Auditor, you will contribute to the assessment of IT transformation initiatives, IT processes, systems, infrastructure and governance. Your work will help strengthen internal controls, improve key processes and support management in making informed decisions.
You will be part of multidisciplinary audit teams and will collaborate with experienced IT, IS and business auditors. Using a standardized, risk-based audit methodology, you will gradually build your expertise while working on meaningful audit assignments across KBC Group.

As an IT Auditor, you will support the execution of risk-based IT and IS audit assignments within KBC Group. Your responsibilities will include:

• Participating in audits focused on IT processes, IT systems, infrastructure, IT change initiatives, information security and governance.
• Supporting the analysis and assessment of risks, controls and processes in collaboration with more experienced auditors.
• Reviewing documentation, systems, data and processes to identify potential weaknesses or areas for improvement.
• Assisting in the preparation of audit working papers that clearly support the work performed and the audit observations.
• Contributing to the formulation of clear, practical and well-supported audit findings and recommendations.
• Supporting the preparation of concise audit reports with a good balance between relevant details and overall context.
• Communicating professionally with auditees, both technical and non-technical, during audit assignments.
• Learning to apply audit methodology, risk-based thinking and data-driven insights in practice.
• Developing a broader understanding of banking, insurance, IT risk, information security and regulatory expectations.
• Collaborating with colleagues across different audit domains and contributing to a constructive team environment.

We are looking for a curious, motivated and analytical IT professional who is eager to grow in the field of ICT audit, IT risk and information security.

Key competencies, that will help you succeed: 

• bring solid technical and process knowledge and hands-on experience in one or more information technology/security domains;
• are passionate about IT and information systems and enjoy intellectual challenges;
• have a strong learning mindset and are eager to broaden your expertise across different technologies, IT/IS domains and related regulatory expectations;
• combine analytical depth with a helicopter view, knowing when to zoom in on the details that matter;
• are a critical, assertive and a pragmatic team player who easily adapts to change;
• communicate clearly and with confidence, both verbally as in writing;
• are organized, responsible and willing to work with deadlines.
• interact naturally with stakeholders at all levels of the organization;
• are comfortable leading meetings and influencing others through clear reasoning and persuasion;
• handle differing viewpoints constructively and focus on solutions;
• are fluent in English, both verbally and in writing;
• hold a university degree (preferably with a specialization in IT/IS) or you have equivalent experience. Professional certifications in the IT/IS area, such as CISA, are a plus!
• are open to short assignments abroad.
