Who are we:
KBC Global Services is the engine behind KBC Group – a leading bank-insurance group with over 41,000 talented employees serving more than 12 million clients across Europe. Since 2021, we have been supporting the digital transformation of KBC Group providing software development, QA, AI, and other IT solutions working on a wide range of projects combining classical IT with digital banking.
The team consists of 25 highly skilled IT professionals based in Varna and Sofia, working in technology‑ and market‑focused units to develop Kate, our digital assistant.
We are responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the cloud‑based infrastructure, as well as developing Kate’s functionalities for three different markets.
Our core technology stack includes Python and Java, and a significant part of our work focuses on the development, optimization, and deployment of complex, high‑impact solutions. Process automation is achieved using tools such as Terraform, while CI/CD pipelines ensure fast, reliable deployments with zero service disruption.
We apply zero‑downtime deployment strategies, including rolling updates and canary deployments, minimizing risk and ensuring a seamless release of new versions.
As our Java Developer, you would have the following responsibilities:
- Enhance and maintain Java microservices architectures within AWS environments.
- Ensure seamless integration of cloud services with traditional banking systems.
- Optimize and monitor performance across applications and infrastructure.
- Collaborate closely with our international teams, maintaining daily communications and code reviews on GitHub.
- Drive innovations in our deployment processes, with a strong emphasis on automation and operational efficiencies.
Key competences that will help you succeed:
- Minimum 3 years of Java development;
- Proficient in Java (17,21), Spring Boot;
- Experienced with Kubernetes;
- Knowledgeable in PostgreSQL and other relational database systems;
- Excellent problem-solving abilities;
- Fluent in English with excellent communication skills, suitable for an international, collaborative environment;
A significant advantage would be to have:
- Experience in Cloud environment (focus on AWS - AWS API Gateway, messaging services like SNS/SQS, and Kafka.)
